Elisabeth Claus has provided legal opinions and advice to the United States Army as well as businesses and business leaders throughout Alaska and continues this practice at Outlook Law, LLC. She has advised military leaders, private citizens, as well as business owners to assist them in resolving a myriad of significant legal concerns. Consistently recognized for her excellence in legal practice and professional service, Elisabeth focuses on solving a client’s problems and advising them on the best solution in any situation or environment.

Elisabeth received her undergraduate degree at the United States Military Academy-West Point-and went on to earn her Juris Doctorate at Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana. Elisabeth first came to Alaska when she was stationed in Anchorage with the 1st Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 4th Infantry Division as an Army Brigade Judge Advocate. Elisabeth received a master’s degree in Military Law with a focus on government contract law and has litigated cases in military courts and in federal court as a Special Assistant United States Attorney—earning the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Elisabeth has experience in appellate litigation of military tribunals, intelligence law, state and federal regulatory law, fiscal and government contract law, labor and employment law, health care law, and internal investigations. Prior to joining Outlook Law, Elisabeth practiced in Alaska, garnering additional experience in land use, business torts, corporate governance, and shareholder rights.  Elisabeth is also Native American with direct lineage from the Lac Courte Oreilles (Ojibwe) tribe.
