J. Harrison Powell
Harrison Powell is an attorney focusing his practice on government contracting, including SBA matters, litigation, as well as counseling and advising clients in the corporate setting. Harrison is admitted to practice in federal and state courts throughout Virginia. He currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Young Lawyers Conference of the Virginia State Bar.
Prior to joining Outlook Law, Harrison practiced for five years with a civil litigation boutique law firm based in Virginia, where he worked directly with clients on a myriad of legal issues. In this setting, Harrison was quickly able to understand and advocate complex issues for clients.
Harrison also clerked for a year in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, where he gained invaluable experience studying the litigation process under the tutelage of a federal judge. While attending Regent University School of Law, he gained similarly invaluable experience as an intern with both the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the Chief Staff Attorney’s Office of the Supreme Court of Virginia. He also served two years on the Regent University Law Review, finishing out his service on that publication’s executive board as a Notes and Comments Editor.
Harrison’s combined experience has taught him the value of honesty and integrity in legal practice. He takes his position as attorney and counselor seriously, and seeks to help individuals and entities resolve their disputes as amicably and effectively as possible. When litigation is required, Harrison believes that a focused, team-oriented approach is necessary to bring about a successful resolution.
In his free time, Harrison enjoys salt-water fishing and spending time with his family. Harrison lives in Williamsburg, Virginia with his wife, son, and two furry companions, Holly and Toby.
