SBA’s Size Standards Comment Extension Publishes in the Federal Register

SBA’s extension of the comment periods on its proposed size standards rule and its revised size standards methodology published in the Federal Register today, at 91 Fed. Reg. 60,524. Comments on both dockets are due November 20, 2026.

SBA filed the notice for public inspection at 6:00 p.m. on September 21, the day the original comment periods were set to close. It was effective as of filing. It published three days later.

The notice adds 60 days to both dockets. The proposed rule is Docket No. SBA-2026-0199. The methodology is Docket No. SBA-2026-0265. The full comment period now runs 92 days, from August 20 to November 20.

The published notice carries one RIN, 3245-AI67, and covers both the proposed rule and the methodology. It lists Ryan Lambert, Associate Administrator, Office of Industrial Base Resilience & Contracting, and the mailbox GCBDregs@sba.gov. It describes the original window as a 30-day comment period; August 20 to September 21 is 32 days. It does not mention any additional public forums.
